The Hackspace team is here to help
Head of Hackspace
I’m the Head of Hackspace as well as heading up the Imperial White City Incubator. I have worked at Imperial College since 2010 supporting Spin-outs, start-ups and students to launch and grow their enterprises. At Hackspace, I oversee the team to support delivery of programmes and projects.
I’ve come from a creative environment working at the Arts University Bournemouth, I managed the central digital workshop, operating and running a collection of CNC equipment both for students and external stakeholders. I get my kicks from overcoming problems and expanding my diverse skill set.
Dr David Miller
I’m the Hackspace resident bio expert. My background encompasses medical research and synthetic biology, which includes biohacking at the molecular level. I’m particularly interested in using the principles of engineering design and rapid prototyping to soft-matter biological systems.
My speciality is in mechanical engineering and I’ve been at Hackspace since day 1, so I’ve plenty of experience helping our members make the most of this amazing community. Previously I worked in special effects departments for both TV and film and am a prop development expert. I’m also the Departmental Safety Officer at Hackspace and am committed to monitoring, risk assessment and regular reviews of work practices.
Dr David Pitcher
I come from a electrophysiology and cardiac engineering background so have a wealth of experience developing devices to record cardiac and neurological activation and stimulation. My passion is in coding and building electronic sensors and devices.
