Design Engineering Society Makeathon 2020 – hosted at Hackspace

Strap yourself in – take-off is imminent for the Design Engineering Society Makeathon 2020.

Join us on January 31st to February 2nd 2020 for an exciting weekend of ideas, hands-on making and prototyping. The event welcomes all students enthusiastic about making, creative problem solving and working in a team!

This event theme is sponsored Autodesk and supported by the Imperial College Advanced Hackspace, The Design Museum and the Dyson School of Design Engineering.

PROGRAMME
Friday January 31st: 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the Dyson Building (South Kensington Campus). Launch evening with a presentation of the brief, talks from external speakers & food.

Saturday 1st: 9am to 5pm at the Imperial College Advanced Hackspace (ICAH) in White City. Prototyping day at the ICAH with mentoring sessions in the afternoon.

Sunday 2nd: 9am to 5pm at the ICAH (White City). Final touches in the morning followed by brunch, judging, prizes in the afternoon and finally some snacks and drinks!

In the two weeks prior to the event:
All participants must complete an induction at ICAH in order to be able to use the prototyping facilities (3D printing, laser-cutting & electronics) during the weekend.
The Design Engineering Society will be running CAD classes on Autodesk’s world-leading Fusion 360 package (free for Imperial students). These classes are open to everyone so even if you didn’t make it in time for Makeathon tickets, you can still attend!
